Famiglia 2000
'A family without secrets is very rare indeed...sometimes family secrets are so deeply buried that they elude the conscious awareness even of those most closely involved. From the involuntary amnesia's of repression to the willful forgetting of matters it might be less than convenient to recall, secrets inhabit the borderlands of memory'. (Annette Kuhn)
'Famiglia' is a series of projects that explore the subject of family, memory and melodrama. They are images, which are in part a construction, and fabrication of the relationships and dramas that exist. The works attempt to recreate memories, placing them into a tangible form. They are a document of evidence where the truth is subjective.
'Famiglia 2000' is a series of single images which are simple and mundane, yet offer a dynamic that submerges the spectator in to a narrative that is unresolved.
