Famiglia 2003
'The strongest melodramas are those without apparent villains, where characters end up hurting each other unwittingly, just by pursuing their desires' (Tod Haynes)
'Famiglia' is a series of projects that explore the subject of family, memory and melodrama. They are images, which are in part a construction, and fabrication of the relationships and dramas that exist. The works attempt to recreate memories, placing them into a tangible form. They are a document of evidence where the truth is subjective.
'Famiglia 2003' features a series of diptychs that present the same moment in time from two character viewpoints. They are juxtapositions of fragmented moments, both in production and memory and offer a panorama of family emotion, bringing together a number of events previously separated by time and space.
